Newquay
by Helen Ardley
Woven effect fabrics are popular in the knitting world right now, and this chunky design by Helen Ardley uses slip stitch patterns to create an appealing texture. The cushion is knitted on 8mm needles using a chunky cotton yarn from DMC; the grey and orange shades form the background, with horizontal stripes worked in a contrasting aqua. The cushion cover is worked in one piece, with a garter stitch buttonband, then seamed.
