Nature Scarf
This is a double-knit scarf using redesigned Amimoji motifs. The motifs are Japanese Kanji characters, Yama (山), Kawa (川), Kusa (草), Ki (木), meaning Mountain, River, Grass, Tree, respectively.
Nature holds a special place in Japanese culture. Yama, Kawa, Kusa, and Ki represent four elements of nature. Each element is well admired and worshiped by the Japanese people. I have a collection of hat designs released in 2020, titled “Nature Hat Series.” Unlike the motifs used in that series, however, the redesigned motifs in this pattern are asymmetric. If you double-knit them in a standard way, the reverse side will show a mirrored image, which is an interesting design element, but not quite correct.” So I created options to make both sides identical using two-pattern double knitting or by doubling the width to show both “correct” and flipped motifs.
