Notes

Natural Bias is knit from corner to corner; increasing to form half of the square and then decreasing back down to the final corner. Stitches are picked up around the outside edge and the border is increased out. Because of the construction it may not be a perfect square when completed, but more of a diamond or rhombus. It may be blocked square.

This pattern uses almost all of the yardage called for in the Materials section. If you are substituting yarns you may wish to buy slightly more yardage.

When I have made this blanket, I have found that each of the three sections (Increase, Decrease, and Edging) use roughly the same amount of yarn. If you want to have an edging made in a contrast color, it will take approximately a third of the total yardage required.

It may be more comfortable to work the first two thirds on slightly shorter circular needles (of the same size) before switching to the long ones for the border.
