Nath was named after one of my lovely test knitters, and designed in collaboration with Madelinetosh Yarn company, through their yarn support programme for indie designers. I feel honoured to be one of the testers of their beautiful Euro Sock yarn. This yarn is soft, durable and also flexible. I highly recommend it for your next sock projects!
In this pattern you can learn how to cast on using the beautiful, flexible and not-so-common Picot cast-on technique for 1x1 ribbing, how to work a neat ssk, and how to create the store-bought-like German short heel.
The socks are knitted from the cuff down to the toe. Begin with the Picot Cast-on method for 1x1 ribbing to create a beautiful and flexible edge, then continue in 1x1 Twisted Rib to give elasticity to the cuff. Work the leg of the socks in an eyelet and spiral pattern, after that work German short rows - either in Reverse Stocking stitch or Stocking stitch - to create the heel of the socks. Decide on the length of the toe and work the instep in pattern as set and the sole in Stocking stitch as instructed.
