I think knitters are the most diligent people when it comes to Christmas shopping. Don’t we all make a list of people who are knit-worthy and try to match up some nice hat or sweater project to each name?

But what about those who know no knitters. Those who simply cannot afford any baby clothing so they depend on hospital clothing and nothing else when their babies are born?

I wrote up the first version of this pattern in 2009 when I started knitting simple premie hats while studying for the bar exam. Knitting sweaters wasn’t very ideal for the law student’s time and bag space.

I decided to update that pattern since the first pattern published didn’t have any good photos (except photos taken with my old Blackberry) and some stitch count errors. So here’s the second, updated version, with a different yarn. Since I had used Loops & Thread yarn for the first one, I decided to leave that information there.
