Napatree Tee
Please take a look at my blog post with a video tutorial on creating the left and right gathers at the shoulders of the Napatree Tee!
Napatree is a breezy, fitted summer tee with unique construction and details. Worked in the round from the bottom up, the shaped tee has a delicate eyelet ribbing, set-in sleeves, and gathered ruching just below the shoulder line. Short rows are used to shape the shoulders as well as the cap sleeves, which are picked up and worked in the round. This clever construction method avoids messy seaming at the set-in sleeve. Eyelet ribbing finishes off the v-neck for a pretty look. You’ll love wearing this tee out and about for boardwalk strolls or outdoor dining. The lovely cotton/linen fingering weight yarn is cool and breezy on hot summer days!
This pattern includes sizes to fit a 32 (36, 40, 44) (48, 52, 56) (60, 64)” or 81 (91, 102, 112) (122, 132, 142) (152, 163) cm chest circumference, with zero or slight negative ease. #sizeinclusive
The gauge is 22 stitches and 32 rows over 4” (10cm) in stockinette stitch.
This is an intermediate level pattern. Knitters will use short rows, basic shaping techniques, basic cable and eyelet techniques, and three needle bind off.
The recommended yarn for this pattern is Cestari Monticello Fingering (75% Virginia Cotton, 25% French Linen; 370 yards/100g): 2 (3, 3, 3) (3, 4, 4) (4, 5) hanks in Tansy #172509.
You will also need 16” (40cm) and 32” (80cm) circular needles and DPNs in size US 4 (3.5mm), or size to obtain gauge.
This pattern includes a schematic, written instructions, and notes on short row and three needle bind off techniques.
