The Mystic Garden Shawl was created in collaboration with Rena from Rena’s Thread and Crafts, who kindly supplied me with the wonderful yarn I needed to make my sample and for all of my pattern testers. Click this link to view the free pattern on her blog.

This triangle-shaped shawl features a lacy stitch pattern with a 2-row repeat. It is easy to learn and follow this pattern. The shell stitch and pompom edging were the finishing touches I added to finish it.

SKILL LEVEL: Intermediate

MATERIALS
Fingering Weight (#1) Yarn. I used Rena’s Thread and Crafts in Mystic Garden Gradient 8-Ply Cotton Yarn, approximately 1,300 yards
Crochet Hook 4 mm (or size to obtain gauge)
Scissors
Darning Needle
Tape Measure
Optional: Stitch Markers

GAUGE: 20 sts X 9 rows = 4 inches in Double Crochet (unblocked)

FINISHED MEASUREMENT: Approximately 70 (length) x 38 (depth) inches

NOTES

1. Read the pattern carefully before starting.
2. This triangle shawl pattern is worked flat in back-and-forth rows, from the (center) top down.
3. • • repeat instructions between asterisks as many times as directed or repeat at specified locations.
4. ( ) work instructions within parentheses as many times as directed or work a group of stitches all in the same stitch or space.
5. I recommend using stitch markers to mark the first stitch and the center chain space of each row so you will not miss it. Remember to move the stitch marker as you progress.
