My Robot Overlord
My Robot Overlord captures the notion of a robotic, articulated hand - I liked the idea of replicating metal and plastic in a textile.
The pattern really is very straight-forward, indeed about as easy as gloves get. Gloves seem fiddly thanks to all the little finger tubes to knit, but they’re really not hard and actually knit up pretty quickly. As much as I love a good pair of fingerless mitts, full gloves are so much warmer. My winter wardrobe is never without a pair of hand-knit gloves, essential for walks on the cold mid-winter days here.
Additional requirements:
- Stitch markers (at least two, more if you wish to also use them to mark your end of round etc.).
- A small scrap of waste yarn (50cm will be plenty, you can use it repeatedly).
Sizing:
This pattern is designed for an average adult hand width, the length of both the hand and the fingers is entirely adjustable.
This pattern was included in instalment three of the Vintage Purls Summer Sock Yarn Club 2014.
