Lace knitting may seem overwhelming and daunting to many beginning knitters, but it doesn’t have to be. Incorporating the classic “Feather and Fan” (sometimes called “Old Shale”) stitch pattern, this easy lace pattern produces the most dramatic and beautiful fabric. For a confident beginner, this is one of the easiest patterns available. Worked over only four rows, three of which are either all knits or all purls, the “magic” happens on the third row with a few k2tog’s and yarn overs. Voila! You have a fantastic lace scarf….your first!
