My First Garter Baby Coat
The knitter need only know garter stitch to create this sweet baby coat in Hush. We explain how to decrease evenly across the row to shape the yoke and how to bind off and cast on for button holes. - Berroco
Front neckline folds back to become lapels. Sleeves fold up to form cuffs. Sleeves are knit downward from armholes.
Sample garment shown in children’s size 2, with three buttons from Durango Button Co.
Directions are for children’s size 1; changes for larger sizes are shown in parentheses.
Sizes and Finished Measurements:
Children’s sizes 1 (2, 4, 6)
Chest (closed): 26 (28, 30, 31)
Length: 18 (19, 20, 21)
Materials:
- Eight (8) small safety pins for markers
- Three 1.75 inch buttons
- 10 (11-12-13) hanks Hush #6307 Down Dilly
