My Crochet Kitchen: Dango
by Bilby & Ben
Every year, my husband and I look forward the flowering of the blossom trees in late spring (Hanami as it’s known in Japan).
We love celebrating by making and eating various wagashi treats like this delicious dango. It’s made with glutinous rice flour and has the most amazing texture!
This is a beginner-friendly pattern and is quick as well as easy to make. You’ll work all 3 coloured spheres as one piece in continuous rounds, then crochet / add the stick separately before attaching to the balls.
I’ve included links to some helpful videos if you’re new to any of the techniques, as well as photo guides for unfamiliar stitches and construction.
Happy crocheting!
