Mussel is a top-down, knit in one piece button up jacket.
The beautiful BFL and Wensleydale blend lends itself to fabulous stitch definition and an overall fuzziness. The intricate cables and twisted stitches make an engaging and substantial knit.
Inspired by the mother and daughter team of Flying Fibers, based in America, and having watched Jeri and Irina tending to their animals come rain or shine over social media, I knew this knit needed to be hard wearing, hard-working and warm. Their love of British longwools is infectious, and a shared passion.

The yarn colour Whitby Shale has been named after a beach rich with fossils in the UK, I have named this jacket after one of my fave shells found on many beaches in the UK, which you will often find covered in barnacles, ridges, lumpy textures, and general sea things. They are pretty beautiful.

I believe with this jacket, you will be working hard for something that’s going to work hard for you.
