Murcielago is an oversized bat-wing pullover with a unique construction, trimmed with cables and finished off with an easily customized neckline. It is, without a doubt, the most comfortable sweater I’ve ever designed. The bat-wing shape gives you lots of ease and room to move, but cinched cuffs and neat trim at the hem add structure, giving it a tailored--not sloppy--look. Squishy soft Hudson + West Forge makes the cables pop and the heathered color gives the stockinette plenty of texture and depth.

Sample shown in Size 2 on a 36” bust. This sweater is intended to have 8-10”/20.5-25.5 cm of positive ease at the bust; however, because of the batwing style, the body and sleeves are essentially one piece, making an exact bust measurement unnecessary. If you’re unsure about which size will work best for you, select one with a finished hip measurement (hip width x 2) that gives you at least 6”/15 cm positive ease around the hips.
Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rnds = 4”/10 cm in stockinette stitch worked in the round on US 8 needles, blocked
16 sts and 24 rows = 4”/10 cm in st st work flat on US 8 needles, blocked
Yarn: Hudson + West Forge, 70% Merino wool, 30% Corriedale, 235 yd/3.5 oz (215 m/100 g): approx. 1250 (1350, 1475, 1625, 1775) {1950, 2100, 2225, 2375, 2525} yds/ 1143 (1234.5, 1348.5, 1486, 1623) {1783, 1920, 2034.5, 2171.5, 2309} m; sample shown in colorway Gold Leaf
Suggested needle size: US 8/5 mm 32”+ circular needle and DPNs, or size to obtain gauge
US 7/4.5 mm DPNs or long circular needle for magic loop, or one size smaller than gauge needle
NOTE: As this sweater is worked side-to-side, your row/rnd gauge takes precedence over your stitch gauge
