Mulberry Cardigan
Mulberry Cardigan is knit seamlessly from the top down, making it easy to try on as you go. First, the back is knit back and forth while the sloped shoulders are shaped with short rows to create a good fit. Then, stitches for each front shoulder are picked up and worked back and forth to the underarms where front panels and back are joined and the body is knit down to the lower hem. Sleeves are picked up directly from the body and worked in the round to the cuffs. Button band and buttons are added last.
Mulberry Cardigan is designed to be worn with 6” of positive ease, meaning it is designed to be approx. 6” larger in circumference than your bust measurement. Select a size that provides this amount of positive ease.
Sample shown in a synthetic and wool blend DK weight yarn, letting the tweed flecks do all the talking for this rather minimalist sweater. Simple stockinette stitch fabric really allows interesting yarns to shine. Consider selecting a yarn with similar characteristics.
Difficulty Level: Intermediate.
