Muir Trail Socks
Muir Trail Socks are part of my Tribute sock series!
John Muir was a Scottish American naturalist, author and early advocate of preservation of wilderness in the United States. His letters, essays and books telling of his adventures in nature, especially in the Sierra Nevada mountains of California have been read by millions. The 211 mile (340 km) trail in the Sierra Nevada was named in his honor.
I’d like to think that a nice, warm pair of cabled wool socks would come in handy on such a trek. Knit from cuff to toe with a staghorn cable these socks are fun and quick to knit
The pattern is written for worsted and dk weight yarn. It would well as a knee sock too. Some ribbing on the bottom of the sock adds additional “hug” for the foot.
