Mug Sweater
Your hands are cold, and your mug, the sultry little vixen that it is, beckons you to warm those frigid fingers on it’s toasty sides. But wait! It was too hot! Oh, the humanity, your fingers are burned on the same day you were going to get your big break as a hand model! Alas, dear reader, this could have all been avoided. If you had made a sweater for that mug your fingers could have been gently warmed, while your drink had the opportunity to finally show off how dapper it really is. This pattern contains instructions and charts for 1-size-fits-most mug sweaters that will save you from you’re the perils of hot-mug-hubris. Worked in Brioche Stitch and Mosaic color work, it’s fun, easy, and makes a quick gift for yourself or a friend.
Pattern Notes: The cozy is worked in Brioche and Mosaic sts throughout. That means each row is worked twice: First with color A, and then with color B. On the chart, always read from right to left. For Mosaic colorwork you will only use 1 color at a time, and at the end of the chart you will continue in pattern with that color and brioche knitting to the end of the round.
Gauge is not particularly important for this project but if you know you typically have a very tight gauge, you might want to use US3 instead of 2.
The pattern includes charts to knit both the plaid version and the #knit version. The pattern calls for 2 20g mini skeins in contrasting colors. You will have enough yarn to make both cozys with the 2 minis. This is also a great project for leftovers from other sock weight projects!
