These socks were inspired by this gorgeous yarn from The Fiber Seed! This is their Swifties pattern for the month of April.

The Mudflats Socks began with a skein of yarn in the color “Muddy Waters”. I’d wanted to find a stitch pattern that was textural (this yarn is so squishy and delicious, you won’t even believe it), but that would also let the speckles shine without too much competition.

A few swatches later, and I settled on this honeycomb-esque stitch pattern.

However, as I was knitting, I realized that there was a way to tie in the color name to the pattern name… Mudflats have giant cracks that look kinda geometric, too, so it was a perfect fit!

Grab a skein of Sprout Sock and cast on these super fun socks!

These socks feature a textured stitch with slipped stitches, garter, and an easy cable round. It creates this lovely geometric pattern that you’ll find is quick to knit and makes your socks fly off the needles! Start with Judy’s Magic Cast-On at the toe, and work in your preferred method (two circs, magic loop, dpns). There’s two heel options included in the pattern, too, and the stitch pattern is fully charted and fully written. Finish them off with a simple 1x1 rib. Then you’re set to lounge about the house with comfy-cozy socks or show them off around town!
