Muckle Flugga è un piccolo isolotto roccioso dell’arcipelago delle Isole Shetland situato tra Unst e Out Stack, in Scozia (Regno Unito). Ospita un faro del 1855 e mi ha colpito vederne alcune splendide foto! Il mio cappello è stato realizzato proprio in un filato tipo Shetland, da qui la scelta del nome. La versione in bianco/nero è realizzata invece in Kauni Artistic 8/2, filato estone dalle caratteristiche simili alla Shetland: secco al tatto prima del lavaggio, diventa morbidissimo e si riempie lavato in acqua e sapone di Marsiglia.

Muckle Flugga is a rocky islet in the Shetland Isles, stuck in between Unst and Out Stack, north of Scotland. It’s
the seat of a lighthouse built in 1855 and I was awed by some fantastic photos of I have seen! My hat was knitted in
Shetland wool, whence the name! The white and black version instead was made in Kauni Artistic 8/2, an Estonian
yarn with similar characteristics Shetland wool: stiff and a bit rough before washing, it turns soft and fluffy once
washed with water and Marseille soap.
