Fingerless mitts are a great project for learning a new technique: you get a little practice working a new stitch and the instant gratification of a quick knit. These mitts are worked with a yarn that shows off the closed loop cables beautifully and feels luxurious to wear.

The mitts are worked from the cuff up. After increasing for the thumb gusset, the thumb stitches are bound off and the rest of the hand is completed.

The mitts have mirrored cables. Work one mitt from the left chart and one from the right chart.

The cable pattern is presented in both charted form and written instructions.

Size: Finished hand circumference of about 7 inches fits up to 8” hand, about 7 ½” inches from cuff to top.

Yarn: Sugar Bush Bold; 190 yds / 174 m per 100 g skein; 100% Extra Fine Superwash Merino, 1 skein or approximately 110 yds / 100 m worsted weight yarn.

Needles: Size 6 US / 4.0 mm needle as preferred for small circumference knitting. Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Notions: Stitch marker, 2 cable needles, tapestry needle to weave in ends.

Gauge: 22 sts and 34 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch in the round.

This pattern has been tech edited and test knit.
