Intro
Mrs. Hedgehog is a basic model sweater, knitted in the round top down. In the upper part the charts of the grass and hedgehogs follow a wedged circled colourwork pattern.
After dividing body and sleeves the tube is plain stockinet. The stitch count has to be adjusted at the hem to meet the multiple (10 sts) of the chart Baby Hedgehogs. Little yarn is needed as the top is knitted cropped and short sleeved. Description of the techniques you need is included. Maybe you like to read my blog post for the inspiration of this new top!

Intermediate: this pattern involves knitting in the round, stranded colourwork and short row techniques.

Yarn
DK, The Periwinkle Sheep, hand-dyed 100% wool superwash merino, 205m/100g (225yds/100g), MC: 615m/675yds (XS, S, M, L) – 820m/896yds XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL shade ‘Any port in a storm’ (deep dark red). CC: 95m/103yds (XS, S, M, L) – 110m/120yds XL, XXL, 3XL, 4XL shade ‘First night’ (variegated yarn grey-greenish).

Needles
Circular needles 3.5 mm (4 US) cable sizes 60 cm (24 in), 80 cm (32 in) and DPNs. Circular needles 3.25 mm (3 US) cable sizes 40 cm (16 in), 80 cm (32 in). Or you can use magic loop method, or use 2 circulars avoiding all different cable lengths needed.

Gauge
22 sts x 30 rounds = 10x10 cm (4x4 in) in stockinet stitch after blocking, needles 3.5 mm.
24 sts x 30 rounds = 10x10 cm (4x4 in) in ribbing after blocking, needles 3.25 mm.
