Mr. Bojangles
I knew a man, Bojangles,
and he danced for you
in worn out shoes
Put the worn out shoes away, and dance in these new socks instead!
This cuff-down sock is a stranded colourwork pattern with no long floats (most floats are 3 stitches or fewer, with the occasional 4-stitch float depending on size). I specifically designed and formatted this pattern to accommodate a wide range of sizes and a custom heel flap length, all while maintaining the integrity of the stitch pattern.
Instructions are provided for 8 sizes, with 56 (60, 64, 68, 72, 76, 80, 84) stitches per round, but it should be fairly straightforward to adapt the pattern for any multiple of 4. Size-specific information is provided in table form where possible. The colourwork pattern is charted in a slightly unconventional format, so that all sizes can use the same chart. For those who are less comfortable with chart reading, there are more conventional size-specific charts in a separate document.
Instructions are written for magic loop - needle 1 holds the instep stitches, and needle 2 holds the back of leg or sole stitches - but this can easily be adapted for other needle styles.
You are free to sell anything you make using this pattern, but please do not sell the pattern itself or otherwise claim it as your own.
Digital patterns are non-refundable.
