Exhibition
This is the second in a series of sock patterns designed for knitting on the train. This one is admittedly more complex than I had originally envisioned, but I really like how it turned out. If commuting with 5 balls of yarn and following a cable chart isn’t your cup of tea, there are options provided within the pattern for making things a bit simpler.
The bold colourwork band on the leg is inspired by the bright colours of the Canadian National Exhibition. The colours are carefully arranged to create a 3D effect, as well as the illusion of movement. After the band, the rest of the sock is quite simple: a repeating cable pattern on the instep, with a flap-and-gusset heel construction.
Sizing is flexible. Instructions are provided for stitch counts of 60 (64, 68, 72, 76, 80).
The colourwork and cable patterns are charted only. You may use any technique you prefer for knitting a tube in the round.
You are free to sell anything you make using this pattern, but please do not sell the pattern itself or otherwise claim it as your own.
Digital patterns are non-refundable.
