Mousa Broch
Always, I come back to Shetland Lace! It’s open and gossamer look, lightweight feel, gives way to an elegant shawl and yet, not a purled stitch in sight. A perfect shawl to use that long lost lace ball from your stash.
This heart shaped shawl pattern is worked flat, from the top down, and features both traditional Shetland Lace (worked in garter st) and a mesh stitch. There are a few beads and number of nupps, these may be omitted or exchanged. This shawl is particularly suited for lace weight yarn, but may be worked in any weight (adjust yarn amounts accordingly, suggestion below for fingering).
Mousa Broch is written and fully charted for your convenience (use one or the other or both!). If the charts are split, I have included an intact chart, as well, for those who use Knit Companion.
