Mountains Edge Socks
This pattern will be launching at Knit City Montreal and will only be available to purchase after 9am Saturday May 17
Cables, texture and ribbing…Oh my!
Capture the spirit of the peaks with the Mountains Edge Socks. A distinctive cable, shaped by the lines of the alpine landscape, climbs the front, while ribbed panels offer a cozy fit.
Please make sure to check your stockinette gauge after you have knit a couple of inches on the leg of your sock. If you are a tight knitter, you may need to go up a needle size because the cables do make a fabric with less stretch. Some of my testers had to adjust their needle size and some didn’t.
The sock comes in 3 sizes and is knit from the top down with a slip stitch heel flap and traditional gusset. I finished it with my version of a rounded toe.
Written and charted instructions are included.
The pattern looks great on lots of different types of yarn…Give it a try! Check out my tester’s project pages for inspiration.
I used a skein of fingering weight yarn. This is my fourth collaboration with Kim and Colin from Gingersnapthat Yarn and I am so grateful for their support and trust while I play with their beautiful yarns.
Huge thanks to my test knitters Heather J, Rochelle, Leanne, Jess, Jenn, Josée, Ally, Lori, Heather D, Mara and Sue for their their help and beautiful socks.
