This is a pattern for an ornately cabled shawl, which is 23 inches wide and 74 - 76 inches long. The shawl is comprised of a unique Japanese Cable and a well known Aran mini cable. The small cables set off the Japanese cable to its best advantage and this combination of cables will be fun to knit and wear for any cable lover.

The stitches are Charted ONLY.

Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a very good working knowledge of cabling .)
There are also instructions for an optional crocheted border, should you want it edged. This is the ONLY crochet in the pattern -- the optional crocheted border.

The top and bottom border, which can only be seen in the “back view” of the shawl, is the Aran stitch, as seen easily on the side borders.
