Sweaters require about 10, 18 ounces white, two ounces green and one ounce red worsted weight yarn.
Use standard knitting needles sizes 5 and 6 and size 5 circular needle for daughter, standard needles sizes 7 and 8 and size 7 circular needle for adult.
