Like moss surrounds trees this cowl will keep you warm in winter times. Perfect addition for every winter outfit. At the end of the pattern, bonus pattern is given for mittens.
Pattern includes written and chart instructions.
Suitable for beginners.
Materials:
Super bulky yarn, wool blend 100 g (3.53 oz)=80 m (87 yd), 55% Merino Virgin Wool, 45% Microfiber
For cowl: 127 (129) 148 g; 4.5 (4.6) 5.2 oz 158 (162) 186 m, 173 (177) 203 yd, 2 (3) 3 skeins
For mittern: 51 (57) 63 g; 1.8 (2) 2.2 oz 64 (72) 79 m, 70 (78) 86 yd, 1 (1) 1 skeins
For both: 178 (186) 211 g; 6.5 (7) 7.5 oz 225 (235) 265 m, 245 (255) 290 yd, 3 (3) 4 skeins
Needles : 7 mm or size necessary to achieve gauge
Three decorative button, scissors, tapestry needle and a row counter are recommended
For model cowl in the photo Merino 80, Mondial was used in green color (no. 282, lot 42), size L, and mittens in size M.

Drops: Andes, Snow, Wish; Performance: Virginia; Katia: Big merino
Sizes & measurements:
This pattern comes in three different sizes: S, M and L.
The instructions for each size are in the order shown here: S (M) L
Head circumference: S: 52–54 cm (20–21″), M: 54–56 cm (21–22″), L: 56–59cm (22–23″)
Wrist circumference: S: 14-16 cm (5.5-6.5″), M: 16-18 cm (6.5-7.25″), L: 18-21 cm (7.25-8.25″)
Gauge:
10 sts x 13 rows in 10x10cm (4x4″) worked over stockinette stitch, unblocked
Notes:
- This cowl is worked flat. Increases are done only on the right sides.
- I-cord is done all around the cowl for neat appearance.
- Buttons are purely decorative.
