Mosaic Dreams
Mosaic Dreams
Mosaic knitting is a fun, easy and “dreamy” approach to colorwork projects. The technique is simple because you only work one color per round. This yarn is a joy to work with, and it knits like a dream!
Inspired by the lovely LYS display of new, Spiral Grain Sport yarn from Urth Yarns, we pondered what to knit with it first. We arrived at the idea of mosaic knitting the gorgeous colors of this yarn as a poncho-type, shoulder cozy project. We discussed using a few colors and separating the sections with Latvian braids. After bouncing around ideas, Carrie got to work, converting them into applied design and developed Mosaic Dreams.
Although we used only four colors, the drifting, ever changing tones in each skein appeared as though there were many more.
It is very comfortable as a soft, lightweight layering piece and may be worn year round.
Our collaboration resulted in this pattern, which we hope you will enjoy.
Thank you to Carrie and Andrea for modeling.
