Mosaic Advent Cowl
The Mosaic Advent Cowl can be made using fingering-weight or DK-weight yarn. The pattern begins with a provisional cast on. It is worked in the round to form a tube, then joined with kitchener stitch to create a loop that you can wrap around your neck twice.
The cowl is long enough that when you wrap it around your neck, one loop can be up close to your neck, and the second loop will rest a little lower to cover any opening at the front of your coat.
The Mosaic Advent Cowl gives you so much flexibility in the way you arrange your colors. When I made my DK-weight version, I used a DK-weight Advent Calendar that contained 25 20 g mini skeins. I used 2 contrasting colors on each 16 round repeat, then switched to 2 new colors for each 16 round repeat.
On my fingering-weight Mosaic Advent Cowl I used a 100 g skein for the main color then used a combination of mini skeins and leftovers of sock yarn that I had in my stash. This would work well with a fingering-weight Advent set.
