Designed for All Wound Up Yarn Shop and the 2025 Puget Sound LYS Tour, this car seat sized blanket is an engaging blend of elegant mandala center stitches, easy granny square stitches in the middle, and linen stitch for the border. It’s a small size, which makes it perfect for the carseat, or for toddler hands to cuddle and carry it around.

Samples are made with one Scheepjes Stonewashed Color Pack, and gauge is important as the design uses up most of the yarn included in the pack.

You could curate your own color palette by purchasing full sized skeins of Stonewashed. You could also make the blanket larger by using full skeins instead of the partial balls in the color pack, and by adding additional rounds where directed in the pattern.

Blocked Dimensions: 25 x 25”/64 x 64 cm

Yarn: Scheepjes Stonewashed Colour Pack (78% Cotton, 22% Acrylic; 10 balls, each ball 72yds/25 g) or approximately 700 yards/250 grams in total.

Gauge: 17 st and 8 rounds over 4”/10 cm. After Round 3, motif should measure 3”/7.5 cm across. Using a gauge larger than suggested will require more yarn than listed.

Hook: 4.0 mm-G, or size needed to achieve gauge

Note: for a larger blanket without making changes to the pattern, you could substitute 10 balls of Scheepjes Stonewashed XL and a 6 mm hook. The finished size of this blanket is about 42”.
