A mosaic of floral tiles that are knit in portable units of 6 petals. Perfect for sock yarn odds and ends or advent calendar mini skeins (each petal uses approximately 2.5g of fingering weight yarn).

Although the individual petals are joined as you work, the finished 6-petal flowers must be seamed together in the arrangement of your choice. If you strongly dislike seaming or weaving in ends, this might not be the pattern for you. Otherwise, this is a simple and ultra portable project that would truly showcase special hand-dyed yarn leftovers or mini skeins. Make just enough flowers for a small baby blanket, or go to town and make enough for a large shawl! Or take out those sock needles to make a charming set of coasters.

Dimensions:
Small, newborn-size blanket pictured measures 22” x 33”, consists of 10 flowers, and was knit using size US4 needles. For a larger blanket, go up a needle size or complete and assemble more flowers.
Coasters are 5 1/4” in diameter.

Materials:
• Needles in US4 or US5 for blanket, and US1 for coasters.
Because no more than 24 stitches are ever on the needles
at once, you can even use 6” double pointed needles.
• Fingering weight yarn. Blanket shown used approximately
600 yards of superwash fingering yarn and a single coaster
used 35 yards.
• 3 locking stitch markers
• Steam iron for flattening finished pieces before seaming

Gauge:
6 sts and 9 rows per 1” square for blanket
10 sts and 12 rows per 1” square for coasters
