Montgomery Blanket
Montgomery Blanket is the fifth pattern in my Green Gables Collection. This baby blanket pattern is inspired by L. M. Montgomery, author of the Anne of Green Gables series of novels first published in 1908, as well as 20 other novels and countless short stories, poems, and essays. Her prolific writing and journals have been studied by scholars worldwide, and her most well-known Anne series is still taught in schools today.
The Anne of Green Gables books have endured as a literary classic, so this blanket is a nod to classic baby blankets. Knit in a solid color for the body and a contrasting neutral color for the edging, the pattern is worked all in one piece on long circular needles and then the contrasting edging added on each side. The simple texture and lace pattern of the main body is surrounded by Garter Stitch, making this project perfect for any baby. Pick a soft worsted yarn in your favorite baby shades and knit the Montgomery Blanket.
