These mitts are an ideal introduction to stranded knitting. They’re a simple construction, and the stranded pattern itself is easy to work and memorise.

Yarn
Baa Ram Ewe Pip Colourwork (100% wool), 116m/126yds per 25g ball, in the following shades:
Yarn A: Brass Band; 1 ball
Yarn B: Coal; 1 ball
Yarn C: Crucible; 1 ball

Needles and Accessories
Set of five 2.5mm (US 1.5/UK 13) DPNS or your preferred needles for working small circumferences in the round, or size needed to achieve correct tension

Set of five 2.75mm (US 2/UK 12) DPNS, or size needed to achieve correct tension

Scrap yarn – a length of yarn about 25cm/10in that is a similar thickness to the main yarn. Slippery yarns and a contrasting colour works best so that the yarn is easy to find and remove.
