Baby sweaters are always quick and easy projects, but this one is even easier than most due to a small little quirk - there are no purl stitches! A few increases and decreases, but absolutely no purls!

Items knitted in the round typically have “jogs” in the stripes where the round begins and ends, but this sweater uses “spiral knitting” to create truly jog-less stripes. You will be working with four balls of yarn all at once, but the process is remarkably easy. The sweater shown is worked with three of the stripes (CC#1, #2, and #3) worked in the same color, but you can add as much color as you like. Three or four colors are no more difficult than two. Have fun!

If you have to stop knitting for a while, stop working at a color change. When you come back to the work, pick up the lower of the two yarns and begin working.

Sizes: 6 mo(12 mo, 18mo, 2T, 4T) Finished chest measurement: 19(20, 21, 23, 25) inches. Allow plenty of ease for all baby garments.

Yarn: Shown in Swish DK. Any washable dk or sport weight yarn that gives you gauge will work. Can be worked as shown with two yarns, or with three or four different colors without making the sweater any more difficult to work. In fact, it might be easier with four colors!

Yardage: 100(120, 140, 170, 200) yds for each of four stripes 400(480, 560, 680, 800) yds total

Gauge:22 sts and 32 rows = 4” in stockinette stitch in the round.

Pattern Format: Three page .pdf document.
