These simple stripy socks are perfect for sock knitting newbies and are named after the John Arbon mill in Devon, which spins its Exmoor Sock Yarn from the fleece of local sheep.

Size
To fit: Average adult – foot length is easily adjustable.
Circumference: 8in (20cm)
Foot length: 101/4in (26cm) (adjustable)

You will need
John Arbon Exmoor Sock 4 Ply 60% Exmoor Blueface, 20% Corriedale, 10% Zwartbles wool, 10% nylon
1 x 50g ball in Bell Heather (A)
1 x 50g ball in Mackerel-Sky (B)
1 x 50g ball in Whortleberries (C)
Scrap yarn in a contrast colour
2.5mm double-pointed or circular needles
Stitch markers
Blunt-ended tapestry needle

Tension
30 sts and 45 rnds to 4in (10cm) over st st stripe patt.
Use larger or smaller needles if necessary to obtain correct tension.
