Mock Cables and Lace
by Ann Budd
Ann Budd writes in the book:
For this pair of socks, I chose a lace pattern that gives the illusion of a wide cable along the front and back of the leg. Then I filled in the sides with a twisted k1, p1 rib to provide
elasticity and incorporated my favorite non-cable-needle
cable stitches—right twists—along the sides of the center
panels. The center panel extends along the instep for
pattern continuity.
