Mobile Monsters
Pattern description from Stitch and Bitch Nation:
“You might be wondering why I call these Bunny and Piggy cell phone cozies ‘monsters,’ but don’t be fooled by their squishy fluffiness. These are in fact criminal masterminds, hellbent on taking over the world, which is why they want your mobile phone (and have also been known to snack on PDAs and mp3 players). Don’t believe me? You won’t see a pattern here for a kitty, because the one I knitted stole my phone and drove off in my car, never to be seen again. You can get two monsters out of one skein, as I discovered when I showed the first monster to my anime-crazed teenage sister, who immediately claimed it as her own, and the sizes here should accommodate most styles. Piggy can hold most folding phones with slot-shape plug ins, and Bunny can hold longer phones with pin-shape plug-ins. The pocket is the right size for the hands-free headset and cord that I use, and the openings at the bottom let me plug in the headset and look like I’m talking to a small fluffy toy. Whether you put the pocket on the front or the back of the cozy is up to you; some of us carry our junk in the trunk and some of us keep the junk up front. Trying to measure a gauge swatch made in this yarn can make you cry, which is why I listed black thread in the notions. Knitted together with the Plush, it makes counting stitches and rows much easier.”
