These socks are knit top-down with one strand of fingering weight sock yarn held together with one strand of lace weight mohair. 2x2 Ribbing is worked in the round for the leg followed by a ribbed heel flap. The top of the foot is worked flat. Then the bottom of the foot is knit in stockinette stitch while being attached to the top foot ribbing.

This modular construction makes these socks perfect for color pops. The final design is simple and striking while still providing an easy to knit recipe for your sock yarns and fluffy mohair colors. Try West Wool Glowhair in a coordinating color to your sock yarn choices to add a Mo Mod (Mohair Modular) accent to your socks!

Sizes
1 (2, 3, 4, 5)

Finished Measurements
6 (7.5, 9, 10.5, 12)″ / 15 (19, 23, 27, 30)cm leg and foot circumference. Measurements taken after blocking.

Socks are designed to fit an actual foot circumference of 7 (8.5, 10, 11.5, 13)″ / 18 (22, 25, 29, 33)cm. The socks are designed to fit with negative ease. Choose a size with a finished foot circumference measurement that is approximately 1″ / 2.5cm smaller than your actual foot circumference, so that the sock will fit nice and snug on your foot.

The lengths of the cuff, leg, and foot are easily customizable by knitting more pattern repeats for a longer leg or foot or fewer pattern repeats for a shorter leg or foot.

Yarn
Fingering weight held together with lace weight

Always hold 1 strand of fingering weight sock yarn together with 1 strand of lace weight mohair silk. You can also knit these socks without the mohair if you prefer to only use your wool sock yarn.
