Step out of the box and Mix It Up with this breathtaking stash cardigan that mixes textures and colors. It’s as comfortable and cozy as it is fun to knit. This cardi was designed to celebrate the abundance of unique colors and textures (as well as the various weights) of yarns that many of us have accumulated.
Pull together an entire color family from your yarn collection or mix and match textures and shades within a theme. Fingering, sport, DK, and worsted are all marled together harmoniously with a laceweight yarn to create a unique, truly one-of-a-kind sweater.
No problem if you’re not a yarn collector; this a fun sweater to buy yarn for. Bring some color inspiration to your local yarn shop and enjoy choosing all the yarns that strike your fancy.
Construction Details:
The Mix It Up Stash Sweater is worked in 3 separate pieces for the body – the back and two fronts – and then the sleeve stitches are picked up and the sleeves are worked from the shoulder toward the cuff. Stitches are picked up for the collar and worked to match the bottom edge of the body and the cuffs of the sleeves. Schematic and technique videos are provided on the pattern.
To help choose yarn and stitch patterns for your sweater, aesthetic and technical suggestions are listed in the pattern.
