The Mitsy Mittens make a special gift for a very lucky little one. Knit the pattern with finer yarn and smaller needles to make an adorable tiny ornament for your Christmas tree. Or, use the modifications suggested at the end of the pattern to make a super cozy adult sized version.

The pattern is specifically designed to be worked with a single circular needle using the magic loop circular knitting technique, but can easily be adapted for double pointed needles.

MATERIALS

Size 4 US 29” circular needles
Light sport weight yarn:
• main color (A)- approx. 40 yards
• contrasting color (B)- approx. 40 yards
tapestry needle
waste yarn

The red/white mittens pictured were knitted with Brown Sheep Nature Spun sport weight yarn in colors red fox and natural. The blue mini-mittens pictured were knitted in Cascade 220 Fingering yarn and size 1 US needles, and the yellow/brown adult sized mittens were knitted in Cascade Baby Alpaca Chunky yarn and size 8 US needles.

GAUGE

Toddler US 4 needles:
29 sts x 33 rows = 4 x 4 inches in colorwork pattern.

Adult US size 8 needles:
18 sts x 21 rows = 4 x 4 inches in colorwork patttern

Mini Ornament size 1 needles:
36 sts x 41 rows = 4 x 4 inches in colorwork pattern
