This pattern was first published in Latvian in the first issue of Radåm magazine as Rīta Dūmakā (Misty Morning).
The Misty Morning cardi is a simple v-neck cardigan with a garter stitch accented button band, hem and cuffs. It is as versatile as they come and be worn in different ways - just throw it on your shoulders and leave it open or button it up when it gets cool. Recommended over a blouse or tight-fitting turtleneck, with jeans or formal trousers, as well as as an addition to any dress.

Suggested needles:
- 4.0mm (US 6) circulars 60cm / 24” for main fabric
- 2.75mm (US 2) circulars or DPNs for neckband, hem and cuffs
Notions: Stitch markers, crochet hook, row counter, scissors, tape measure, stitch holders or waste yarn, tapestry needle, removable stitch markers or bobby-pins, 4-5 22 mm buttons.
Techniques used: Provisional cast-on, backwards loop cast-on, cable cast-on, lifted increases, short rows, one-row buttonhole, 3-needle bind-off.
Difficulty: Intermediate.
Construction notes: The cardigan is worked seamlessly from the top down. Back neckline stitches are cast-on, the neckline is shaped using short rows, and increases are worked to full shoulder width. Stitches for each front shoulder are picked up along the back shoulders and worked separately with increases shaping the front neckline. Back and front are joined together, simultaneously stitches for sleeves are picked up along the edges of the front shoulders, and the yoke is continued in one piece down to underarm, then body and sleeves are separated and are worked separately to the hem and cuffs.
Other notes: For this project, I recommend Japanese Short rows or the most invisible short-row technique you know. Instructions do not specify closing short row gaps, instead, closing is implied whenever working over turning points.
