She looks a little startled. Or maybe startling? Nonetheless, Miss Liberty born on the Fourth of July stands her ground. No compromises. No excuses. She’s proud to live in the USA and to be an American.

Porcupine Fish are native to Hawaii as well as all warm parts of warm oceans. This nocturnal fish dines on crunchy sea urchins, shellfish and crabs. While normally shaped like a baseball bat, once frightened the porcupine fish gulps down huge quantities of water expanding it into a balloon shape—doubling or tripling its body mass. Once danger has passed, the water is expelled and the body returns to the original size.

As with all crochet patterns, a knowledge of basic stitches and the ability to increase and decrease is required. All Angelsun patterns use US abbreviations as set forth by Yarn Standards for publication. Please note that this varies from those used in the UK and possibly elsewhere.

No warranty is implied and no liability is assumed. Due to small parts, this item is NOT child safe. Results may vary according to tension and skill level. The pattern may not be resold or distributed in ANY form and remains the sole property and copyright 2012 Kelly Lynn Smith DBA Angelsun.
