If you’re just starting out in crochet, the idea of crocheting a whole sweater can seem intimidating. Or sometimes you just don’t want to crochet many panels and sew them together.
But don’t worry!!! Mirage cardigan is seamless raglan cardigan, worked from top to bottom in one piece and then sleeves are crocheted directly onto the body. It works up pretty quickly. It is also a great pattern for an advanced beginner as it involves basic construction techniques and basic stitches.
Yarn:
I would recommend any worsted yarn that washes well in machine. Acrylic yarn would be perfect. But you can also use superfine merino or acrylic-merino blend yarn if child is not allergic to wool.
Colour options:
You can make this cardigan in solid colour or you can choose stripes all over. Stripes only on the yoke would look great too.
Sizing:
The cardigan has 4” to 4.5” positive ease. But if you prefer more loose, oversized cardi, so child can grow into it, make a larger size or use larger hook than required to obtain gauge.
Sizes: 2 (4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, 16)
Garment chest: 25” (27”, 29”, 30.5”, 32”, 34.5”, 36, 37”)
To fit chest: 21” (23”, 25”, 26.5”, 28”, 30”, 31.5”, 32.5”)
Cardigan has 4-4.5” positive ease.
