Sizing: Finished hat circumference is 18”/45 cm. The hat is designed to be worn with negative ease to fit head circumference: ~22-23”/56-58]cm. By adjusting needle size and using different yarn you will get different size alterations.

Gauge:
14 sts = 4” 10 cm in Stockinette st with larger US 10/6-7 mm needles.
18 sts = 4” 10 cm in cable pattern with larger US 10/6-7 mm needles.

Materials:
Sample Yarns:
Variegated version: Malabrigo Chunky (100 % merino wool, 100g/3.53 ounces/100 yds/91 m). The sample was knitted in colorway 204 Velvet Grapes. You need 2 skeins or 122yds/111m.
Gray version: Rowan Cocoon (80% merino wool, 20% goat mohair, 100g/3.53/126yds/115m). The sample was knitted in colorway 803 Scree. You need 1 skein or 126yds/115m.
Needles:
Adjust the needle size to get the correct gauge. I used US 9/5,5 mm needles for brim and US 10/6 mm needles for body when working with Malabrigo Chunky AND US 10/6 mm for brim and 7 mm (no corresponding US size) for body when working with Rowan Cocoon.
