Minnesota Mosquito Socks
Everyone knows that Minnesota’s state bird is the loon, but is it common knowledge that the unofficial “bird” is the mosquito? This knitting pattern incorporates the good and bad of Minnesota - warm wool socks for winter and an easy slipped stitch motif to remind us of all that makes Minnesota our unique home. This might be the only time a mosquito is actually celebrated!

Adult Small (Medium, Large)

Finished Measurements:
6.25 (7.5, 8.75)” (15.9, 19, 22 cm) leg and foot circumference; 5.5” (14 cm) cuff length, from top of ribbing to top of heel flap

Needles
US 1.5 (2.5 mm) 40-inch (100 cm) circular or set of double-point needles
Pattern is written for Magic Loop method

Yarn
Fingering weight sock yarn, approximately 400y / 366m
Adult Large sample used 375y (343m) total in Knit Picks Stroll Tonal (462 y (422.5 m), 100 g (3.5 oz)); 75% Merino, 25% Nylon, 1 skein in color Queen Anne

Gauge
32 sts x 44 rnds = 4” (10 cm) in Mosquito pattern (similar to stockinette stitch)
