At this time of year it feels like grey skies and long nights have been with us forever and all I want to do is curl up with a mug of hot
chocolate (or perhaps something stronger)… These bright and fun mug warmers make a great galentines or valentines gift for someone who cheers up your cosy nights in. I’ve included two sets of colours so that you don’t get bored knitting up the pair. By the time you’ve made two you might find yourself hooked!

We knit these mug warmers flat before joining them around your mug handle with buttons and simple chain stitch button loops.

Gauge is not crucial for this project although I have provided the gauge I used as a reference. If the project comes out a little bigger then you will have to find a nice large mug. If your mug warmer is a little small you can make the button loops longer to compensate.
