Milton
Pattern purchase includes both the shawl and cowl.
Milton Shawl was born on a movie set - literally! While working as an extra in the Hershey film, which was shot in Pittsburgh this summer, I filled the long hours on set with my needles and yarn. The result was Milton; a shawl that’s comfy, eye-catching, and hard to knit just one!
Featuring an easy-to-memorize stitch pattern paired with engaging stripes, Milton Shawl is the kind of project that keeps you reaching for “just one more row.” Knit in The Plucky Knitter’s newest base, Pippi Worsted! This Brushed Merino yarn combines incredible softness with rich, textural depth. The fabric this yarn creates is so cozy and luscious! I chose autumnal hues inspired by one of my scenes in Hershey, but the design is endlessly versatile - pick your favorite two-color combo or rep your team’s colors for the perfect game-day knit.
CONSTRUCTION
Milton is a triangular shawl with stripes and a simple textured lace stitch pattern. Shawl is CO and worked flat from the top down. It’s shaped through increases which occur at the shawl edges and in the center on all RS rows.

COWL
Milton Cowl takes all the elements you love from Milton Shawl and reimagines them in a cozy, wearable cowl that you’ll reach for again and again! Named after my time as an extra in the Hershey movie, this design carries a bit of a Hollywood backstory along with timeless style. I adored knitting the Milton Shawl so much that I couldn’t resist creating a cowl version - something easy to throw on, yet just as striking in its details.
When I heard The Plucky Knitter was bringing back my beloved Halo Worsted, I knew this pattern was the perfect pairing! This worsted weight 100% cashmere yarn is soft, luxurious, and shows off the stitchwork beautifully, turning a simple accessory into something truly special. Whether layered under your favorite coat or worn as an everyday statement piece, the Milton Cowl wraps you in softness and comfort while letting the yarn shine.
