For a very long time I have been drawn to the idea of designing a lantern style crochet motif. The gentle curves of the lantern shape flow beautifully, guiding the eye naturally across the design and through the repeating pattern. This unique design invites the eye to pause and look twice. The beautiful rhythm and movement created by the repeating flow of motifs allow the lantern shapes to truly shine, while still maintaining an elegant, wearable drape.

Designed to be both beautiful and versatile, the shawl can be worn draped loosely around the shoulders as a light layer on cooler evenings, or wrapped comfortably around the neck as a cosy statement piece.

This design was created in collaboration with Utopia Crafts and showcases their beautiful 365 Days Cotton DK in a palette that highlights the contrast between soft florals and deep evening tones.
