Midnight Beanie
To celebrate the release of these 2X2 beanies, there’s a little introductory sale: 20% discount until Monday, March 17th, 2025 (until the end of the day, Helsinki time). Use code BEANIES for the discount! Works on the e-book too!
Do you remember one of those colder than cold days, when the ground is frozen solid and nothing seems to keep that icy wind away? This is the time to bundle up in this double mohair beanie!
Midnight Beanie will keep even the coldest of winds away with the tightly knitted ribbing and with 3 strands of yarn held together. I used 2 strands of Knitting for Olive Soft Silk Mohair and one strand of Knitting for Olive Merino. You can also choose a single strand of dk to worsted weight yarn; make sure to have a tight gauge because that will keep the beanie snug and lovely to wear.
MATERIALS
Yarn:
- 1 (1, 2) skein(s) of Merino by Knitting for Olive; colorway Navy Blue (blue sample) or Pink Daisies (pink sample).
- 2 (3, 3) skeins of Soft Silk Mohair by Knitting for Olive; colorway Deep Petroleum Blue (blue sample) or Pink Daisies (pink sample).
Approx. 240 (285, 330) yds / 220 (260, 300) m of each of the 2 lace weight yarns and 240 (285, 330) yds / 220 (260, 300) m of fingering weight yarn, held together. Note: The beanie is knitted with holding two strands of Silk Mohair and one strand of Merino together.
Needles: US 2.5 (3 mm), 16” (40 cm) long or longer, and dpns in same size if you are not using magic loop technique for small circumference knitting.
