Needles
One 16” / 40 cm circular needle in sizes US 6 / 4 mm and US 4 / 3.5mm
Needles for small circumference knitting (DPNs or long circular for magic loop) in size US 6 / 4 mm
Second 16” / 40 cm circular needle in size US 6 / 4 mm for closing hat’s brim
Or use a needle size to obtain gauge after blocking

Stitch markers (one in a distinct color or style for BOR), tapestry needle, waste yarn, crochet hook

23 sts and 36 rnds = 4” / 10 cm in Woven Pattern using larger needles after blocking

The hat calls for a provisional cast on. If you’re unfamiliar with this technique, you can find helpful explanations on sites like Knitty and VeryPink.
When knitting the Woven Pattern, be sure the tension of the floats at the front of the work is not too tight. Tight floats will cause the fabric to pucker.
